The Summer Art Scene is Almost Here!

“GRAND JUNCTION” showing at the Marin Society of Artists in San Rafael, CA

Ahhh…Summer! It seems we spend almost the entire year waiting for this moment. All of the angst of getting through the holidays, tax season, and cleaning up the house after a long winter. But Summer is the time we get out, we get together with family and friends during reunions and bar-b-ques. It’s also the time to venture out to new places or revisit old ones including art museums and galleries! Normally I’m traveling long distances, enjoying the delicious foods and seeing unique sites in Europe or Asia. Yet, this year, I’m venturing more locally. I’ll be taking a few months off from working in the healthcare industry to focus more on my art. I plan on traveling up the west coast to the beautiful states of Oregon and Washington to see local art and, hopefully, end up in Vancouver BC. I’ve never been to Canada but have always wanted to go, so this will be a “bucket list” item that I’ll get to check off. “Why are you going to Vancouver you ask?” More on the reason coming soon!

I also look to expand my exhibiting opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area. My first show will be 2 paintings featured in the new “California MInd” show at the Marin Society of Artists gallery in San Rafael, CA.

I have found that there is an array of savvy art collectors in this beautiful part of California and hope to be able to show my abstract expressionist works to the masses in art galleries and juried exhibitions. There is also some opportunities to have my work available through limited edition prints. I’m look forward to what the future brings as I grow my audience and expand the many ways folks can enjoy my work!

36"x36" Original Abstract Mixed Media Painting on Canvas

The abstract painting features a dynamic interplay of colors and shapes, creating a sense of movement and depth. Bold strokes of deep blues and vibrant oranges intertwine, while softer hues of pastel yellows and greens provide contrast and balance. Circular forms emerge amidst the linear elements, suggesting a rhythmic flow throughout the composition. The texture varies across the canvas, with some areas smooth and glossy, while others exhibit a more matte finish, inviting exploration. Overall, the piece evokes a feeling of energy and harmony, encouraging viewers to interpret the visual language in their own personal way.
